What are Palettes?

Palettes are a set of up to six colors of your choice. Palettes are typically used as a basis for coordinating color choices for a room, sets of clothing, colors within a quilt, etc. Color Hints provides four ways of creating a Palette, by

The Palettes tab

From the Palettes tab, the following can be done:

Creating or editing Palette Collections

Click the + button in the tool bar (upper left) to create a new collection of Palettes.

A Palette Collection must have a name. Without a name the Palette Collection will not be created.

The Palette Collection can be protected from accidental deletion by turning off the "Collection can be deleted" switch

Click the + button in the Palette collection header to add a swatch to the collection. Or, an existing swatch can be double tapped to begin editing.

Each Palette can have a name and comment. These are not required, but may be helpful in remembering what each Palette is based on, or its intended use.

Rearranging and deleting Palettes in the Palettes tab

The Edit button in the tool bar of the Palettes tab allows swatches to be deleted, their order rearranged, or edited (click the detail icon button). Click the Done button when finished editing.

When a Palette Collection is deleted, a confirmation is required that will indicate how many Palettes will be deleted with the collection.

Sharing Palettes

Select a Palette to share by tapping the Palette. With a Palette selected, tap the action button action icon. The choices available will depend on which services are configured on your device. Possible choices include
